Parameters of the

Movement of Prayer for Haiti

 

 

  1. The Movement of Prayer for Haiti provides spiritual support for Haiti. It is non-denominational. It aims at uniting Haitian citizens and Haiti lovers in a spiritual mobilization to bring Haiti closer to the Creator while promoting appreciation for and positive thinking about the country.

 

  1. Interested participants will create and manage groups of prayer comprising two to twelve members.

 

  1. Each group will choose a Bible inspired name and meet either in person or virtually every week at a day and time agreed upon by consensus. Each group will also select a coordinator and an assistant coordinator for a period of one year.

 

  1. The prayer sessions will last 10 to 30 minutes, unless a group has good reasons to decide otherwise. Punctuality and time management are key to the success of the sessions.

 

  1. The sessions of prayer will take the following format:

1- Opening remarks and welcome

2- Opening prayer

3- Our motto: We uplift Haiti to you o God and request grace, blessings and healing upon our country. Help us to appreciate and seek the good of this land and its people.

4- Three to five minutes meditation based on the theme of the week.

5- Scripture reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14 and John 11:40

6- One prayer or two for Haiti

7- Closing remarks and benediction

 

  1. On the day of the prayer session, the participants will seek to speak only positively about Haiti, its leaders and its people. They will refrain from uttering, reading or listening to any derogatory thought, joke, comment or message. They will express appreciation for something or someone in the country. They will avoid arguments, especially during the session.

 

  1. The groups of prayer may register with the Movement of Prayer for Haiti by sending an email to admin@wakedormantdreams.com or online at  https://jeanricotdormeus.com/pray-for-haiti/. They may submit quarterly reports of their activities and share inspiring experiences and testimonies.

 

  1. Every February 7, starting from 2021, all groups will join in a National Day of Prayer for Haiti, making it a Day of Forgiveness and Reconciliation.

 

  1. Every year, the coordination of the Movement of Prayer for Haiti will circulate a list of themes for the prayer sessions.

 

  1. A Movement of Prayer for Haiti app will be launched in the future to facilitate management of the groups and coordination among them.
